Just checking in to say that progress is coming along just fine on character encounters. These will take us one level above interrogations - character encounters account for a full session with another character at a given location, which can include multiple questions and interrogations.
I'm still working on them, but a gameplay video should be out in the near future. Here are some screenshots to tide you over until then! (Click for full size.)
Multiple interrogations for one character! Very nice and just like AAI. Keep up the good work.
ReplyDeleteWhile it IS only a test, I have to ask if you're going to fix up the kerning of the font a bit later on? Looks a little off ;)
ReplyDeleteI really like the way this is shaping up!

ReplyDeleteHaha, I'll try. :)
@Chibito
Unfortunately the kerning information is built into the font itself. I can alter the spacing between characters, but it would require a pretty major hack to change the kerning. What specifically looks off? It looks OK to me.
@Techercizer
Glad to hear it! :)
It's mostly T, there are other points in the video where it's just a bit off, but mostly T. The font fits otherwise so I'm not sure if it would be worth the trouble to change anything.

ReplyDeleteOh, in the sense that the smaller characters should go underneath the T? If that's what you mean, then yeah, I see what you mean... but I think I'd prefer to just leave it be; like I said, it'd be very tedious and bug-prone to fix that, and I imagine people will probably get used to it.
Just looks like it's too much left I guess, so 'This' looks a bit like 'T his' and 'st' look too bunched together. It is only a minor issue, yeah, probably not worth the hassle.
